HiveMQ Enterprise Extensions

HiveMQ Enterprise Extensions are specialized add-ons for HiveMQ that extend the functionality of the HiveMQ MQTT broker. Our enterprise extensions are designed to provide a scalable, secure, and stable out-of-the box experience.
Enterprise extensions require a license for production use and are licensed separately.

The HiveMQ Enterprise Extensions are only available for the Professional and Enterprise editions of HiveMQ. The HiveMQ Community Edition does not support Enterprise Extensions.

Licensing

All HiveMQ Enterprise Extensions come preinstalled with your HiveMQ Platform release bundle and are disabled by default. To enable a HiveMQ extension, locate the desired extension folder in the extensions directory of your HiveMQ installation and remove the DISABLED file (if present).

If you do not provide a valid license, the HiveMQ broker starts in evaluation mode and supports up to 25 client connections. In evaluation mode, HiveMQ Enterprise Extensions run for 5 hours. After 5 hours, HiveMQ disables the extensions.

To evaluate HiveMQ Enterprise Extensions without a runtime limit, generate a free Lab license in the HiveMQ Platform.
With a Lab license, you can also test the Data Intelligence functionality of the HiveMQ Platform.

Production use of the HiveMQ Enterprise MQTT Broker requires a valid production license.

If your HiveMQ license expires and no other valid HiveMQ license is present, HiveMQ switches to evaluation mode. After 5 hours, HiveMQ disables the extension. To reactivate the extension, update the expired license, and then remove the DISABLED file from the extension folder, if present.
