Install HiveMQ Software on AWS

Deploy HiveMQ on AWS using the official HiveMQ Amazon Machine Image (AMI).

To access the AWS deployment wizard, follow the steps in Add HiveMQ Software, then select AWS.

Before You Begin

You need an active AWS account. If you do not have one, create an AWS account before continuing.

Steps

  1. Follow the AMI deployment guide to complete the following in AWS:

    1. Select the HiveMQ AMI.

    2. Choose an EC2 instance type.

    3. Configure your instance settings and security groups.

    4. Launch the instance.

  2. Open http://<host>:8080 in a browser, where <host> is the public IP address or hostname of your AWS instance.

  3. Log in to the HiveMQ Control Center with the following default credentials:

    Username

    admin

    Password

    hivemq

    MQTT clients can connect on port 1883.

  4. Add your HiveMQ Platform license to unlock full broker capabilities. See Install a HiveMQ License.
