Test a HiveMQ Cloud Broker Connection

After you add a HiveMQ Cloud broker, test that the broker accepts client connections. Use the HiveMQ Platform to test your broker connection.

  1. On Connect, select a HiveMQ Cloud broker.

  2. Switch to Test your connection. TIP: For a Starter plan, find Test your connection on the Troubleshooting menu.

  3. Test connectivity in one of the following ways:

    With existing credentials:

    1. In Connection Settings, select Username.

    2. In Username, click an existing credential.

      If the connection succeeds, the HiveMQ Platform displays The WebClient is connected.

    3. If necessary, click Connect.

    With autogenerated credentials:

    1. In Connection Settings, select Connect with autogenerated credentials.

      The HiveMQ Platform generates and displays temporary credentials.

    2. Copy and save the credentials displayed in Autogenerated Credentials.

    3. Click Close.

      If the connection succeeds, the HiveMQ Platform displays The WebClient is connected.

  4. Optionally, click Disconnect.
