Test HiveMQ Cloud Broker-WebClient Connectivity

After you deploy a HiveMQ Cloud broker, test that the broker accepts client connections. Use the HiveMQ Platform to test your broker connection.

Before You Begin

On Connect, verify that your HiveMQ Cloud broker status shows Running.

  1. On Connect, select your HiveMQ Cloud broker.

  2. On Broker Details, click Configure.

  3. Switch to Test your connection.

    • For a HiveMQ Cloud Serverless broker, select Test your connection.

    • For a HiveMQ Cloud Starter broker, select Troubleshooting, then click Test your connection.

  4. On Test your connection, test connectivity in one of the following ways:

    With autogenerated credentials:

    1. In Connection Settings, select Connect with autogenerated credentials.

      The HiveMQ Platform generates and displays temporary credentials.

    2. Copy and save the credentials displayed in Autogenerated Credentials.

    3. Click Close.

      If the connection succeeds, the HiveMQ Platform displays The WebClient is connected.

    With existing credentials:

    1. In Connection Settings, select Username.

    2. In Username, click an existing credential.

      If the connection succeeds, the HiveMQ Platform displays The WebClient is connected.

    3. If necessary, click Connect.

  5. Optionally, click Disconnect.
